It’s back to school time, which often brings with it some nostalgia. So, let’s walk down memory lane, shall we? The year was 1999. Britney was dressed as a schoolgirl begging us to, um, “hit” her “one more time.” Drew Barrymore had “Never Been Kissed.” Julia Stiles was “hating” falling in love with Heath Ledger (along with everybody in the world). And everybody was telling everybody else to wear sunscreen.
So, other than good advice, what is “Wear Sunscreen” all about?
To sum up, it’s the title of an alleged commencement speech purportedly delivered at M.I.T. by Kurt Vonnegut that an Australian filmmaker actually turned into an oddly entrancing slow-talking “song,” which then spread around the internet like wildfire just before the turn of the last century.🤔
